STURROCK ON VICTORY
SWINDON Town boss Paul Sturrock admitted he did not think his side deserved the three points against Bristol Rovers but welcomed the victory which leaves Town in eleventh place.
The manager spoke after watching his side take all three points over Paul Trollope's Rovers side with four players dismissed in the second half.
"It was scary really and I didn't see too much in some of those challenges. I am hoping the referee will take a look at Jerel's red card but I will wait and see the tape myself before making a decision on that one.
"A three game suspension is far from ideal. We were firing on fumes, but now we don't have any fumes left to fire on! There are a lot of games coming up in close quarters so it's difficult times.
"It's a three points and we have ended that poor run. I don't feel we merited the three points but these things even themselves out over the course of the season.
"We have a game in hand and if we can win that one then we will be into the Play-Off zone which is good news for us.
"Peter came back into the shirt with a little bit of rustiness in his game, but today he looked like he was back to his best by all accounts.
"It looks as though Chris Blackburn should be fit for next Saturday and we still have Andy Nicholas so we do have options."
The manager refused to be drawn on speculation linking him with the vacant managerial vacancy at Plymouth Argyle after the game.
