Jamie Vincent arrived at The County Ground in the summer of 2006 as one of Dennis Wise's first signings.
Vincent began his football career as a trainee at Crystal Palace before making the switch to AFC Bournemouth, where he made over 100 appearances between 1996 and 1999. He then made a £500,000 switch to Huddersfield Town which was followed by an £800,000 deal which saw him move to Portsmouth in 2001. Spells at Derby County and Millwall then followed.
He signed a one-year deal with Town in July 2006, and performed admirably in a number of positions during the promotion winning season of 2006/07. Despite missing several games with a fractured cheekbone around December, Vincent returned to Captain the side in the absence of injured skipper Ady Williams and lead the team to promotion back to League One.
Vincent signed a new one-year contract in the summer of 2007 and has played in every league game of the season to date, captaining the side in the absence of Hasney Aljofree and Ady Williams.
