Physical centreback who joined Swindon Town in January 2008 following his release from Coca-Cola Championship side QPR.
Started out with Leyton Orient as a youngster and after impressing against QPR in a friendly, joined the Loftus Road side on a permanent basis.
He made his first appearance for QPR against Burnley in 2005 and went on to make 12 league appearances for The R's.
Made an immediate impression in his first appearances in a Town shirt, winning the Man of the Match award after a 1-0 win at Luton Town at the end of January.
However a series of niggling injuries meant he made only three further appearances for The Robins before the season was out. A summer of rehabilitation saw the defender impress in pre-season in Austria, with dominating displays against the likes of Fenerbahce - where he came up against former Chelsea striker Mateka Kezman in a 1-1 draw.
Kanyuka made his first League One appearance of the season in the 3-1 home defeat to Colchester United on Saturday 23rd August 2008.
