MO ON THE TRANSFER TRAIL
Manager Maurice Malpas admits the search for fresh talent is hotting up and after overseeing Town's first day of training, admitted he expects player movement in the near future.
With three trialists set to link up with the squad for training on Monday, the boss is also set to continue his pursuit of two other targets with regards to a permanent swoop.
"I am still speaking to a player in terms of coming and everybody knows we have put in a bid for another player, so things are moving on.
"A lot of clubs go back to training next week and things will really start to liven up now. Players who haven't got clubs will get itchy feet so the transfer market will get going.
"Once people start training again agents get to work and a lot more moves are done.
"We have a couple of trialists coming in next week and we can see if they can help the squad. One lad is out of non-league and there is another trialist coming from a Championship club."
With the players donning the trainers on Friday morning, Malpas was delighted to have his players back on the training ground after pre-season got started on Friday.
"It is great to be back on the training ground and I think the players are pleased to be back in amongst it - although I don't think they will have enjoyed the running.
"Some players just don't like it and may struggle - but there is a lot harder stuff to come I can assure you of that. I have the next ten days planned out, so we know what is expected of the players.

"The Austria tour is just around the corner and that's something we are really looking forward too. I have told the players that there are twenty spaces on that trip, and it is up to the players to make sure they are on the plane. Hopefully I will have a selection problem in the build-up to 9th August because the players are playing so well.
"This is where the ground work gets done. We will use Austria as the time to get the technical work put together so no player is left not knowing what their individual jobs are, and their role within the team.
He added: "As a group of players I want them to strive to get better and that's the type of mentality we want from this squad."
Supporters are reminded the STFC Box Office will be open from 9am until 12pm on Saturday as The Race to 6K continues.
