The League One Play-Offs are now under way with the race for the last place in the Coca-Cola Championship hotting up.

Southend United drew with Doncaster Rovers on Friday evening at Roots Hall with Carlisle United visiting Leeds United on Monday evening.

Carlisle then host Gary McAllister's side on Thursday 15th May with Southend traveling to The Keepmoat Stadium 24 hours later.

Town assistant manager David Byrne has offered his views ahead of the play-offs.

"I think it will be a Doncaster-Leeds final and to be fair that would be a cracker," said Byrne.

"What happens then is anyone's guess but it would be great if Doncaster went up, leaving us with Leeds United still to play next season."

Byrne has also welcomed Leicester City to the division, having spoken with Leicester City Chief Scout, Gary Penrice, earlier in the week.

"Leicester are another big club joining League One. I spoke to Gary (Penrice) a few days ago - he picked his phone up and I just said 'welcome to hell!' he joked.

Byrne added: "It's another great fixture for us and one that we won't fear.

"If we can get the players in that we are after then we can all really look forward to next season with some excitement.

"I don't think there will be too much movement in terms of bringing players in until after the play-offs because that is when the make-up of the leagues will be confirmed for next season."
