A 74th minute header from Simon Cox was enough to hand Swindon all three points at The Memorial Stadium on Tuesday night.
It was a solid away display from Town, who made no changes to their line-up with Maurice Malpas keeping faith with the same eleven that put six goals past Port Vale on Saturday.
Craig Easton, who sustained a broken nose during Saturday's home clash with The Valiants, continued as Captain with Hasney Aljofree named on the bench on his return from a one-match suspension.
There was a chance for Swindon inside the first minute, and it should have been a goal. A flick on across the area from Simon Cox found Michael Timlin, who having controlled the ball, fired wide of the upright from 10 yards out.
Captain Craig Easton then got Town going again on four minutes. His well weighted pass down the right hand side set Cox away although his teasing cross into the box was gathered by Steve Phillips in the home goal.
The home side were denied on six minutes. After Comminges made a hash of an attempted clearance, Pipe crossed for 19-goal striker Lambert who saw his first time strike superbly saved by Brezovan in the Town goal from close range.
Town's first corner arrived on nine minutes and Miguel Comminges headed over from six yards.
Swindon were then pegged back for a spell with the home side enjoying plenty of possession as the game settled.

Town were then handed an excellent opportunity on 26 minutes thanks to some great play from the Robins front two. Cox's dummy let paved the way for Peacock who strode into the box but took one touch too many and under pressure from Anthony, skewed the ball wide.
Excellent defending from a determined Town side saw Rovers denied through blocks from Ifil and Timlin before Rickie Lambert went close again. The striker's dipping strike from the edge of the box just landed the right side of the bar for The Robins.
There was another chance for Swindon as a well-worked free-kick saw McGovern drive the ball across the box for Peacock, who headed narrowly wide from 8 yards from an acute angle.
Simon Cox then combined well again with his strike partner on forty minutes. Excellent work from the former Reading striker saw a whipped cross met by Peacock who headed straight at Phillips, a former Bristol City teammate, from 8 yards.
On 43 minutes Swindon had their stopper to thank for another excellent stop. A corner in from Stuart Campbell found Lambert who struck well from close range in amongst a melee of bodies, but Brezovan got down well and diverted the ball away with his right foot.
Jack Smith was cautioned in the last minute of first half injury-time after clipping Disley on the edge of the box as Rovers broke away. The resulting free-kick from Lambert was deflected over and Swindon survived the corner before the half-time whistle blew.

Swindon emerged having made no changes for the second half, and were soon on the attack. An incisive ball from McGovern found Cox, although having controlled the ball, was unable to exert any pressure on the Rovers goal.
Rovers responded well with Rickie Lambert doing well to carve out a chance which fell just over the bar from the edge of the area after more good build-up play.
Simon Cox then saw a 49th minute effort deflected wide and from the resulting corner, Jon-Paul McGovern struck wide from 25 yards.
Lee Peacock then saw his header saved by Phillips on 56 minutes after a pinpoint cross in from the left from Jamie Vincent.
Swindon survived a scare shortly before the hour. A corner into the box from the right saw the ball fall to Byron Anthony at the back post and his low drive seemed destined for the net, only to be denied by some last-ditch defending from Smith, Comminges and Brezovan as the ball bounced off the post and was cleared.
The best chance of the game fell on 69 minutes. A superb through ball from Disley split the Town defence and Rickie Lambert was left with a clear run in on goal. The top scorer took his time before seeing his effort clip the top of the cross bar and into the Swindon fans behind the goal.
Swindon forced another corner on 74 minutes with the game still wide open for either side to take the lead. Town did just that. A corner whipped in from McGovern found Simon Cox at the near post and he rose highest to head past Phillips to take the lead. The striker was booked for punching the corner flag out of its holder, but the Swindon fans cared little for the caution as they celebrated behind the opposite goal.

Maurice Malpas made his first change of the evening on 82 minutes with Billy Paynter coming on to replace goalscorer Simon Cox.
There was another change two minutes later with Hasney Aljofree replacing Miguel Comminges, who took his time to leave the field with a knock. Aljofree resumed his duties at centreback with Vincent moving into left-back.
Rovers rallied late on and forced a corner inside the closing stages although a Brezovan punch saw away any hope of a late comeback.
