The search for new talent is very much under way at The County Ground, with Assistant Manager David Byrne offering the latest on the transfer market.

Town bosses have begun working to a list of potential targets, although Byrne admits that movement may not be seen until the close of the Play-Offs.

The management have though been making sure the Swindon name is out and about as the search for fresh blood gathers pace.

"The key thing is making sure that clubs and agents know that we are in the market. We have spoken to three Premiership clubs and five Championship clubs in the past few days to see what they might be letting go.

"There is a lot of work that goes in to get a player here. I have just come in today and I have been on the phone non-stop."

Byrne added: "We spoke to Barnet about a few players, but they are asking for ridiculous money to come here and that's the situation we are faced with, so we are going to look at the foreign market and see if we can grab a gem.

"The McNamee deals are out there, but you have to be very quick if you are going to draw a deal out.

"We have one or two irons in the fire, and there will definitely be some new faces coming in as the summer progresses."
