Swindon Town striker Billy Paynter is looking forward to a reunion with his former club, but insists the three points come first ahead of Saturday's home clash with Port Vale.

Paynter started his career with The Valiants and having come up through the ranks, went on to score 30 goals in 119 league starts for the club.

The front man went on to have spells with Hull City, Southend United and a loan spell at Bradford City before arriving at The County Ground on deadline day in August 2007.

"I started my career there and that's where things took off for me. They gave me my chance and I owe a lot to people the behind the scenes team there.

"There are still quite a few people up there who I keep in touch with and it will be good to see a few old faces again."

After coming off the bench at Doncaster Rovers last weekend, Paynter is hoping to be involved against his former employers this time around, but knows the three points is the most important thing.

"I am sure it will be a tough game even though they have been relegated. I am sure there will be personal pride on their behalf.

Paynter added: "For us it's one we should be taking three points from. The defeat at Doncaster Rovers last weekend was a blow and I am sure that together, we can bounce back and put in a performance."
